An adventurous ‘on the go’ journey across both islands. For much of the time we are off the beaten track - walking and sometimes wading, cycling or kayaking through the whole range of New Zealand’s ‘great outdoors’: remote lakes, volcanoes, rainforest, hot springs, glaciers, fiords, alpine mountains and remote beaches. The style is informal with backpacking, camping, mountain huts, and evenings on the beach setting the trend.

We visit many of the great New Zealand outdoor locations including the beautiful Lake Waikaremoana, the geothermal areas and volcanic plateau of Tongariro National Park; the beaches and golden sands of Abel Tasman National Park, the canyons and rainforest of Paparoa National Park, the rugged peaks of Arthur's Pass, Mt Cook or Aoraki ‘the cloud piercer’ - New Zealand’s supreme alpine peak, the lush valleys of Mount Aspiring National Park, the most dramatic sheer sided Milford Sound within Fiordland National Park and finally the trip ends in Queenstown: ‘the adrenalin capital of the world’.
