The Inca Two-step!
Across the Andes with the Incas! This classic itinerary captures the colour and vibrancy of the people and landscapes in the heart of the Inca Empire.
There is good time in Cusco to acclimatise and absorb the sights and sounds of the Andes – Inca stonework colonial architecture, plazas, markets, street cafes and Andean music. We also hike to the Inca citadel at Pisac and explore the mighty fortress at Ollantaytambo.
Don’t underestimate the Inca Trail, only 43km long but with Dead Woman’s Pass at 4198m it requires fitness and stamina. To climb the final stone steps to the ‘Sun Gate’ and see Machu Picchu spread out below will be its own reward.
Finally a rollercoaster bus ride across the high altiplano of the Inca Highway to the emerald blue Lake Titicaca, where we visit floating islands, home-stay with local people and visit traditional island weavers.
